Launch of the "Parangul Mare"Mountain Sports Festival Project

The Asociatia Drumetii Montane (“Mountain Hiking” Association) officially launches the second edition of the “Parangul Mare” Mountain Sports Festival project, a festival that will take place between August 2 and 4, 2013, at Groapa Seaca Chalet in Hunedoara County. The event includes several hiking activities, climbing, sightseeing, folk marathon, cultural, surprise trials and many other activities divided by age categories, so that anyone can participate. The participation fee is not charged during the event.

This event is an outdoor competition, between teams, consisting of 3 people and represents the fourth stage of the National Mountain Relay Championship.

Within the festival are organized four categories of competition: CHILDREN, JUNIORS, SENIORS and OPEN! Consistent prizes are offered for each of them! Take your friends and family, make teams and participate! Beginner, experienced or for the first time on the mountain, come with us!

The competition tests will be the following: mountain raid - 2000 points, visa orientation 2000 points, climbing - 400 points, theoretical tests - 300 points, cultural - 300 points.

Parents can educate their little ones by developing their green spirit and instilling in them the pleasure and benefits of spending free time in the middle of nature, enrolling them in the CHILDREN category, the RAID MONTAN test (hiking), which will take place on the route Groapa Seaca Chalet - Agatat Refuge - and back to the Groapa Seaca Chalet. During the hike, they can visit a refuge "hanging" on a rock dating from 1985-1986.

The JUNIOR and OPEN categories will cover the following route during the MONTAN RAID test: Groapa Seaca Chalet - Hanging Refuge - Stana Rosiile - Punctul Rosu - Lacul Verde - and back to Groapa Seaca Chalet.

The ELITE category will cover the route Cabana Groapa Seaca (Start) - Refugiul Agatat - Stana Rosiile - Punctul Rosu - Lacul Rosiile - Lacul Mandra - Saua Gruiului - Vf. Parangul Mare - Vf. Silvei - Lacul Verde - Cabana Groapa Seaca (End) in a very short time.

During the event, the participants will visit the Agatat Refuge, the 7 lakes and will climb the Parangul Mare peak (2518m), as well as the Silva peak (2420m).

Registrations are made online. After you complete the registration form, a self-declaration will automatically be generated containing an identification code with which you will present yourself at the event. If you do not have a printer, you only need to write down your identification code, and the declaration on your own responsibility will be printed when the team is validated.

Starting with May, until the event, the members of the association, together with its volunteers, will campaign to promote the event, distributing flyers and posters in Romanian cities and arranging information points.
