Presentation of RetezatNational Park

The activity is organized within the Mountain Hiking Festival with the desire to promote as much as possible the Retezat National Park. The volunteers of the Mountain Hiking Association made articles and video videos to promote the park.

The establishment of the Retezat National Park in 1935 is the official recognition of the richness of the natural heritage of the Southern Carpathians and the need of all to preserve it. The surface of the park belonged to the Royal House, being a hunting field. In 1979 the park became known as a Biosphere Reserve due to its status as a protected natural area of national and international interest.
