Tourist Orienteering in the Bârsești Neighbourhood

Published on

The sweetness of Saturday mornings when you don't have to get up to go to work or school, lazing in bed until late, the quiet of the hours… what could be better? Well, the actions of the lads from Drumeții Montane. For example, last Saturday they held a mountain orienteering training session in the forest in the Bârsești neighbourhood of Târgu Jiu. Who comes to these training sessions and what happens there? Whoever wants to stretch their legs, fill up with good cheer and pass it on to others comes along, and this Saturday 20 brave souls searched for the 5 flags strategically placed in the Bârsești forest. The whole training session lasted 2 hours and the participants were also in for a surprise, being interrupted during the programme by two curious roe deer.
This is not the association's only action of this kind. In the same spirit of volunteering, the members also organise photography, graphic art and caricature competitions and mountain camps, and take part in various ecological projects. And, while we're on the subject, they also have a competition scheduled for the end of this month, which will take place around Moeciu de Sus, where everyone who loves the mountains and likes the idea of spending a few days in the open air is expected. You can ask the association's members more about these competitions and how to take part by visiting the website drumetiimontane.ro.
