Between 1 and 3 September 2017, the Pro-Parâng Ski and Mountain Tourism Association will organise, within the "Ștafeta Munților" (the Mountain Relay) National Sports Tourism Championship, the 7th and last stage of this competition year.
The venue is the Parâng Massif, where everyone who wants to rediscover the beauties of our country through tourism, sport and ecology is expected.
The camp will be organised at Cabana Groapa Seacă, located 18 km from the city of Petroșani on the DN7A.
Friday, 1 September, is dedicated to welcoming and accommodating the competitors and registering the teams in the competition, and at the end of the day the technical briefing will present in detail how the events will be run.
After last edition's lakes route, this year we propose that participants cover a route from which they can admire the entire ridge of the Parâng Massif with its main peaks: Lacul Gâuri and the limestone formations in the cirque, and the peaks of Gâuri, Coasta lui Rus and Piatra Tăiată; these are just a few points on the route to be covered in the queen event of the competition: the mountain raid (the hike).
The tourist orienteering event will be done on a map; the route will be about 1.8 km long and will be covered by the whole team.
Saturday, 2 September, will end with the cultural event around the campfire, where young and old will delight those who have come to the event with folk music, poems, plays and humorous moments, and where there will be laughter and singing until morning.
The competition is aimed at all hiking lovers, tourism and ecology clubs and associations from across the country, whether or not affiliated to the "Ștafeta Munților" National Sports Tourism Championship, as well as mountain and hiking lovers who wish to take part and can organise themselves into teams of three.
