The Drumeții Montane Association Took Part inthe Iarna pe Uliță 2015 Event

Between 13 and 15 February, the Drumeții Montane Association took part in the "Iarna pe Uliță" (Winter on the Village Lane) event, organised by the Gaska Tourism Association from Bucharest.

The organisers chose for the event to take place this year in Călimănești – Căciulata, Vâlcea county.

Friday was the time when we got to know one another, when the organisers presented us with the programme for the weekend, after which we moved on to the first event, the slideshow event, with each group presenting a set of at least 30 photographs on a mountain theme.

Saturday brought the much-awaited surprise orienteering event, where each team received a sheet of paper with a long set of riddles that had to be solved in order to earn points.

On our way to finding the answers to the riddles we also came across surprise tasks, such as: crossing a bridge like a spy between little bells, passing between canisters without touching them, with two participants blindfolded and guided by the third. For each task passed successfully, the team received extra points.

By solving the riddles, the participants thus visited almost all the tourist attractions in Călimănești - Căciulata.

The hardest task, for which you got a great many points, was to convince a local to tell you a joke while you filmed them. A task for which such a person was hard to find.

Another task that caused a sensation was taking a photo with three hats. All the shopkeepers in Călimănești and Căciulata knew about us; many of them, when they saw us reading a sheet of paper, would say: Do you want to take the photo with the hats, or are you looking for springs I and II?

It was a unique and very engaging experience.

On Saturday evening we had the pyjama party, where there was singing and dancing until dawn.

Sunday was the day of the awards, when the most deserving among us were rewarded by the organisers.
