Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world. The quality of the environment is directly reflected in the lives of pupils and their families. Forms of education in nature help raise public awareness of the importance of nature conservation.
Out of the desire to build a better world for the healthy development of the little ones, the Drumeții Montane Association is launching ECO JUNIOR 2014, a project that will take place within the "Să știi mai multe, să fii mai bun!" ("Know More, Be Better!") programme. It is aimed at all teachers in Romania who are interested in ecological education and who wish to get involved in coordinating eco-recreational activities with a playful touch. Pupils will acquire a set of values and protective feelings towards the environment, which will feed their motivation and devotion to taking part in maintaining the quality of the environment.
The interaction between the representatives of the Drumeții Montane Association and pupils, through outdoor outings, has proved to be the most effective way of promoting the environment and a healthy lifestyle. Through the ECO JUNIOR 2014 project, the Drumeții Montane Association gives teachers the opportunity to organise activities within the "Să știi mai multe, să fii mai bun!" programme both outdoors and in the classroom, according to the teachers' preferences.
The activities are varied and can be adapted to the pupils' age.
