Gorj Team Takes 2nd Placeout of 40 Teams

This weekend, Gorj Team took part in stage V of the competition held under the aegis of the Federation of Tourism and Ecology, a stage called "Montaniada – Olimpiada Muntelui" (the Mountain Olympiad), 4th edition, organised by the Ghizii României Tourism Association.
The camp was set up at km 106 on the Transfăgărășan, and over 26 clubs took part in this competition. The participants from each club had the chance to prove their qualities in the events of regularity, orienteering, mountain cross-country, climbing, park adventure, the barrels, the caterpillar tracks, 10 straws, climbing on an artificial wall, log throwing, black water, archery, the sand pit, and the cultural event, which involves reciting a poem, singing each club's anthem plus 3 more songs of their choice, and a sketch on a mountain theme meant to amuse the audience in one way or another.
In this competition Gorj Team won a well-deserved 2nd place in the Montaniada Trophy, out of 40 registered teams. Some of the places obtained in each individual event: girls' wall climbing, 2nd place going to Miss Tomoiu Oana, a seventh-grade pupil from Baia de Fier, 1st place Ecovescu Cosmin; boys' sand pit – 5th place Lupulescu Daniel, girls' 5th place – Duricu Tatiana; boys' mountain cross-country – 1st place Lupulescu Daniel, girls' mountain cross-country – 8th place Duricu Tatiana; team climbing – 1st place; regularity 3rd place.
