The "Hai pe Munte!" (Let's Go to the Mountains!) Mountain Tourism Association of Iași, in partnership with the Bistrița Bârgăului local authority (UAT), Salvamont Bistrița-Năsăud and the Călimani National Park Administration, and in collaboration with the Bistrița-Năsăud Intercommunity Tourism Development Association and Colibita-cazare.ro, invites you to take part on 16–18 August 2024 in the 3rd edition of the "HAI PE MUNTE!" TROPHY, which will be held in Colibița and will be the fifth stage of the ȘTAFETA MUNȚILOR (Mountain Relay) National Sports Tourism Championship and the Romanian Sports Tourism Federation, 2024 edition.

The Hai pe Munte! Trophy is aimed both at members of the clubs taking part in the Ștafeta Munților and FRTS Sports Tourism Championship and at other people who are able to organise themselves into teams, taking part alongside the clubs and enjoying the same activities.

Participation is free, and registration is in teams of 3 people, with a minimum level of fitness. If you are passionate about nature and the mountains, we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible enjoying the proposed routes, the scenery and the atmosphere of the whole event.

Camp location:

The tent camp will be set up at the Roua Călimanilor Guesthouse in Colibița (at the tail of the lake).

Access routes:

  • By car: Bucharest – Ploiești – Sinaia – Brașov – Sighișoara – Târgu Mureș – Bistrița – Colibița;

  • Petroșani/Hunedoara – Simeria – Sebeș – Bistrița – Colibița.

  • Train + minibus: train to Bistrița, then local minibus to the junction with Mureșenii Bârgăului.

Because the tent camp will be set up on private land, the rules that will be made known to you at the technical briefing will have to be observed. There will be a single large fire pit.

There is permanent access to toilet facilities in the camp.

On Friday, lights out is at 24:00.

Competition categories:

  1. Family – teams of 3 people, at least one adult and compulsorily at least one child aged no more than 13;
  2. Juniors – teams of 3 people, regardless of sex, aged between 14 and 20 (completed years);
  3. Elite – teams of 3 people, regardless of sex and age;
  4. Women's – teams of three women, regardless of age;
  5. Seniors – teams of 3 people aged between 35 and 50, regardless of sex.
  6. Veterans – teams of 3 people aged over 50, regardless of sex;
  7. Open – teams of 3 people, regardless of age and sex. Times for this category are calculated as tourist times;

COMPETITION EVENTS:

1. The mountain raid event:

  • Level of difficulty: medium;
  • Duration: 6–8 hours; the Family category will cover a suitable route not exceeding 4 hours.
  • Team: 3 members;
  • Physical fitness: good;
  • The route is fully marked;
  • Scoring: according to the Ștafeta Munților rules;
  • You cannot enter this event without hiking boots or mountain footwear with a profiled sole, which also includes trail running "shoes";
  • Counts towards the overall ranking of the competition;
  • The mountain raid route will be differentiated according to category.

2. The orienteering event:

  • The orienteering event will be held using a map and involves covering a course with the help of the orienteering map and a compass, over a distance not exceeding 2.5 km as the crow flies.
  • Scoring: according to the Ștafeta Munților rules;
  • Counts towards the overall ranking of the competition.

3. The theoretical event:

It will be taken before setting off on the raid route by all members of the teams entered in the competition. The test will consist of 15 multiple-choice questions with a single correct answer and will last a maximum of 7 minutes (the time being recorded for a possible tie-break). Each team member will answer 5 questions.

The Family and Open categories will answer only picture-based questions.

Scoring: according to the Ștafeta Munților rules

Counts towards the overall ranking of the competition.

4. The cultural and artistic event:

Themes: sport, tourism, nature, ecology;

Duration: approx. 25 minutes/club;

Scoring: according to the Ștafeta Munților rules.

Content: music, poetry, humour

Does not count towards the overall ranking of the competition;

Compulsory equipment:

Individual: torch, whistle, rain cape (waterproof jacket), hiking boots or footwear with a grippy sole (according to the Ștafeta Munților rules).

Team: compass, first-aid kit (it is recommended that it contain at least 3 items such as: sterile bandage, sterile compresses, Rivanol plasters, elastic bandage, disinfectant, survival blanket), rucksack, source of fire, water bottle – min. 1 l (according to the Ștafeta Munților rules).

We inform participants that, depending on the weather forecast, we will decide whether the compulsory equipment will be checked.

Note:

- competitors who do not have hiking boots or footwear with a grippy sole may not enter the mountain raid event.

Camp rules:

- Competitors will be accommodated in tents under the guidance of the organisers, on the grounds of the Roua Călimanilor Guesthouse. Tent fee 20 lei/person for the whole duration of the competition.

- There will be a single fire pit; setting up additional fire pits is forbidden.

- Clubs are required to carry their rubbish to the special collection points near the camp.

- The organisers reserve the right to make changes to the programme of the competition events depending on the weather forecast.

- The park fee is 10 lei/person and will be paid only by the adults entering the competition. The fee will be collected by the organisers and handed over to the Călimani National Park Administration.
