Between 12 and 14 August, at the Peștera Muierilor Tourist Complex in Baia de Fier (Gorj county), at the northern entrance to Cheile Galbenei, Trofeul Jnepenilor (the Jnepenii Trophy) will be organised, being the 5th stage of the "Ștafeta Munților" (the Mountain Relay) National Sports Tourism Championship 2016, organised by the JNEPENII Association for Youth, Sport, Tourism and Ecology
Trofeul Jnepenilor 2016 is an event comprising a varied range of outdoor activities – trekking, orienteering, tourism knowledge, climbing, via ferrata routes and other outdoor games. The organisers recommend that you explore the areas of Cheile Galbenului, the Olteț and their surroundings, climb peaks that dominate the horizon, and in the evening relax around the campfire at the creativity contests.
Local legends say that the spiritual leader of the Dacians, Zamolxe, withdrew to this area, and that this is also the place where Decebal, the great Dacian ruler, chose to hide the nation's treasure.
Those who wish to practise sporting, cultural and ecological activities in an organised, relaxing form can register for Trofeul Jnepenilor, taking part in categories according to age and level of training (juniors, veterans, women, open), as can parents who wish to educate their children in an eco spirit, enjoying together the thrills of a competition (the family category). For the daring athletes who will battle the mountain and the seconds, we have reserved the elite category.
People who are not legally organised (in clubs or associations) can also take part in this competition, as it is a socio-cultural event. You can register until Friday, 12 August, on site, but no later than 22:00.

The tent camp will be set up on the bank of the Galbenu river in Baia de Fier, right at the entrance to Peștera Muierii, and participants are expected from Friday, 12 August, starting at 10:00.
