Information Point and Mini Photo Exhibitionin the Centre of Târgu Jiu

With the support of Târgu Jiu City Hall, the Drumeții Montane Association will set up an information point in the centre of the city of Târgu Jiu on 31 May 2013 at 16:30, more precisely in the "La Groapa" area, to present to citizens the "Parângul Mare" Mountain Sports Festival, 2nd edition. At the same time, there will also be a small photo exhibition with landscapes from the route you will cover during this event.
The aim of this project is to promote and popularise sports tourism as an eco-friendly way of spending free time, to educate society in a green spirit – through involvement in environmentally protective activities, covering tourist trails and climbing Parângul Mare peak – 2,519 m, the 5th highest mountain peak in the Romanian Carpathians.
The "Parângul Mare" Mountain Sports Festival will be organised at Groapa Seacă, Hunedoara county, between 2 and 4 August, where there will be hiking, climbing, a folk marathon, tourist orienteering, a cultural evening, theory tests, surprise events and much more.
The event is designed so that anyone of any age can take part, whether or not they have experience in this field; it is the perfect opportunity to do sport through play, to meet new people, to show off your talent, vocation or imagination.
