Introduction to Orienteering at Voievod LitovoiSecondary School in Târgu Jiu

On 16 December 2011, the Drumeții Montane Association, in partnership with the Gorj County Directorate for Sport and Youth, the Nordul Gorjului de Vest Natura 2000 Site and the teaching staff of Voievod Litovoi Secondary School, organised at Voievod Litovoi Secondary School a competition entitled "Introduction to Orienteering", hoping that those at high risk of dropping out of school would be motivated to come to school more often.
The pupils were taught how to read a compass and immediately afterwards moved on to the practical test; those who took part had to find a few control points hidden in the sports hall. At the end of the competition they were given diplomas and prizes, the prizes being offered by the Gorj County Directorate for Sport and Youth and CH-Center Hosting.
Such activities will also take place in 2012, and with them we hope to motivate pupils at risk of dropping out of school.
