How to get there:
If you are coming to us from Bucharest, Pitești, Craiova or other towns south of the Southern Carpathians, you must first pass through Târgu Jiu and follow the signs to Petroșani. Cross the Jiu Gorge (Defileul Jiului) and, at the exit - at the first signposted junction, before Petroșani - turn left towards Cheile Buții (34 km). You will pass through, in order, the towns of Vulcan, Lupeni and Uricani and the villages of Valea de Brazi, Valea de Pești and Câmpu lui Neag. From Câmpu lui Neag continue straight on along the asphalt road until you come to a sign for Cheile Buții - on the right.
Leave the asphalt road; from here you have about 600 m to go to the courtyard of the complex. The road is accessible to any type of car, all year round.
If you are coming to Chei from the towns north of the Southern Carpathians, the landmark is the town of Petroșani. Drive through it and, at the exit, before entering the Jiu Gorge, follow the sign for Cheile Buții - on the right. From here follow the route described above.
