Mountain Lovers from Târgu Jiu on theFront Line at the Night of Museums

The Night of Museums did not leave the lovers of mountain hiking and culture in Târgu Jiu indifferent. The members of the "Drumeții Montane" Association, together with their volunteers, visited this year the 2 museums in the Municipality of Târgu Jiu. The first visit was to the Gorj County Museum, where video screenings and documentary films about the history of Gorj County were shown, against the backdrop of a carefully organised exhibition presenting the gradual evolution of Gorj County. Next came the visit to the Art Museum, in the Central Park area of the Municipality of Târgu Jiu, where the exhibition of wax figurines was held. This year the "Night of Museums" was a real success, due to the fact that the number of visitors increased compared to previous years. On this occasion we applaud the initiative and the participation of the two museums in an event that popularises the cultural aspects of our town, bringing it into line with the great cultural centres.
The Night of Museums, a successful event initiated by the French Ministry of Culture and Communication, was in its eighth edition this year. The event is under the patronage of the Council of Europe, UNESCO and the International Council of Museums (ICOM).
