On Thursday, 24 March 2011, the "Drumeții Montane" Association will carry out a clean-up action in the forest of the Bârsești district.
The action will begin at 10:00; besides the initiators of the action, pupils from the following high schools are also invited: Energy School Group No. 1 and Ecaterina Teodoroiu National College.
The pupils, together with their teachers, will arm themselves with bin bags and plastic gloves to try to rid the forest of the Bârsești district of the mass of rubbish accumulated during the cold season, when clean-ups could not be carried out because of the snow that covered this waste, which comes mainly from careless tourists who frequented the forest area of the Bârsești district.
Afterwards, the bags of waste will be collected by Gorj County's sanitation company, S.C. Polaris S.R.L.
The action is the first in a chain of such actions that will be carried out in Gorj County, under the supervision of the partners mentioned above, and of course all the people of Gorj who wish to lend a hand in collecting waste are expected at the clean-up.
In carrying out this action we have been supported by: S.C. Polaris SRL, S.C. Ch-Net S.R.L, the Administration of the Nordul Gorjului de Vest Natura 2000 site, Casa Bobo, Euro Park, the Târgu Jiu Forestry District, the Environmental Protection Agency.
