ProjectLaunch

Between 29 and 30 August 2012, from 12:00 to 16:00, the Drumeții Montane Association will set up an information point in the centre of the city of Târgu Jiu to promote volunteering at county level; the project is called Voluntar pentru Viitor (Volunteer for the Future) and is funded by the National Authority for Sport and Youth (ANST).
At the level of Gorj county there is no interactive database comprising the young people interested in taking part in volunteering activities, as well as the youth organisations that carry out such activities.
Within the Voluntar pentru Viitor project, the Drumeții Montane Association wants the number of volunteers to grow and for them to register according to the field in which they wish to be active, so that young people in Gorj can be informed in real time about the various activities organised in Gorj county. The project is aimed at people between 14 and 35 years of age.
Also through this website, NGOs in Gorj county can publish events and various activities; in this way, registered volunteers can choose to take part in that event.
Those who wish to register will be able to choose the fields of interest in which they wish to be active as volunteers, or simply to receive information about these fields. They will be able to take part in volunteering activities such as: social assistance and services, protection of human rights, medical and health, cultural, artistic, educational, teaching, scientific, humanitarian, religious, philanthropic, sporting, environmental protection, social and community, and others.
The aim of this project is: promoting an attitude of respect towards the environment, raising young people's awareness with a view to taking part in volunteering activities, as well as organising and activating structures for information, tourism education and recreational activities.
