Buzău – 21 September 2019: On 21 September, Societatea Exploratorilor (the Explorers' Society) is organising the 2nd edition of the Urban Exploration Competition, an orienteering competition addressed to all lovers of outdoor activities, which takes place in Alexandru Marghiloman Park in Buzău. The event stimulates the competitors' organisational, coordination and, above all, cooperation skills, challenging them to solve riddles along an itinerary, to find their way using a compass and to solve games in order to accumulate points.
The competition is addressed both to people who wish to practise orienteering sports activities in an organised and fun form, and to those who have no such notions, as a workshop introducing the secrets of orienteering is also being organised that morning. Participation is in various categories, according to age and level of training: high school students, women, family and explorers, in teams of 3 members. There is no limit on the number of competitors, but around 200 people are expected to turn up.
