The Gaska Tourism Association from Bucharest is organising, between 21 and 23 July 2017, in the Bucegi Mountains, the fourth edition of the "Trofeul Munților" (the Mountains Trophy) sports tourism competition. The team competition is also this year's fourth stage of the National Sports Tourism Championship – Ștafeta Munților (the Mountain Relay).
Competitors will start from the Padina Plateau, Dâmbovița county, and will have to complete the following events: mountain raid (covering a mountain route in the area within a certain time), tourist orienteering, climbing, cultural, and surprise events.
The winners of the competition will receive prizes consisting of: diplomas, cups, medals, T-shirts and sports equipment.
Anyone can take part in the competition, and participation is free. Registration, by team and by competition category, can be done until the day the competition starts, at the organisers' tent, before the technical briefing, and participation is at one's own risk. The competition rules can be found at www.stafetamuntilor.ro.
The route will be a challenging one and will give participants the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of Fanny Seculici and discover a small part of the beauties of the Bucegi.
The Gaska Tourism Association brings together members with experience in mountain tourism and aims to promote tourism, healthy ways of spending free time and, last but not least, the importance of environmental protection.
Through this event, the aim is first and foremost to attract as many young people as possible to this kind of activity, to raise participants' and the public's awareness of the importance of environmental protection and, last but not least, to develop tourism in the chosen area.
We are glad that this competition enjoys continuity, reaching its fourth edition, and we hope it will attract as many participants as possible to the start line.
