The Gașka București Tourism Association invites you to the fourth edition of the "Trofeul Munților" (the Mountains Trophy), Stage IV of the National Sports Tourism Championship – Ștafeta Munților (the Mountain Relay), 2017 edition, 21–23 July 2017 – Bucegi Nature Park
Trofeul Munților is open both to members of the clubs taking part in the Sports Tourism Championship – Ștafeta Munților and to other people who can organise themselves into teams, taking part alongside the clubs and enjoying the same activities.
Camp location:
The tent camp will be set up on the Padina Plateau in front of Cabana Padina (the Padina Chalet). The camp is within mobile phone network coverage.
Access is as follows:
- From DN 1, at the entrance to Sinaia, take the road towards Târgoviște on DN 71; after about 8 km turn right onto DJ 713 towards Cabana Cuibul Dorului - Dichiu - follow the sign to Hotel Peștera. The road is paved as far as Cabana Padina
- From DN 71 - Moreni, the village of Glod, towards the Sanatorium – Cabana Zănoaga – Cabana Bolboci – Cabana Padina, a 30 km route, about 1 hour by car on a gravel county road - DJ 714;
- Bușteni - Babele cable car
- Babele - Hotel Peștera cable car, and from there about 20 min. to Cabana Padina

Camp rules:
Because the event will take place within the Bucegi Nature Park, the park rules, which will be explained to you at the technical briefing, must be observed. Please note that a park fee of 5 lei/person will be charged.
Lighting fires is forbidden. There will be a single large campfire.
There will be a collection box in the camp for electrical/electronic waste. We ask that every participant in the trophy bring a battery, a light bulb or any electrical/electronic item they no longer need.
RULES
1. Mountain raid event:
- Difficulty level: medium
- Duration: 7–8 hours
- The route will be marked and secured by the organisers
- Scoring: according to the Ștafeta Munților rules.
- Entry to this event is not allowed without hiking boots or "mountain footwear with a lugged sole", which includes trail-running "trainers"
- Counts towards the overall ranking of the competition
2. Orienteering event:
- Speed event on azimuth; each team will nominate one member to complete the course. The maximum length will be 2 km and the maximum elevation difference 60 m;
- Scoring: according to the Ștafeta Munților rules
- Counts towards the overall ranking of the competition
3. Theory tests:
- Taken by the members of the teams entered in the competition before setting off on the regularity route. The test will consist of 15 multiple-choice questions about the competition area, with a single correct answer, and the maximum time allowed is 7 minutes. Each team member will answer 5 questions.
- Scoring: according to the Ștafeta Munților rules
- Counts towards the overall ranking of the competition.

4. Climbing event:
- Each team will nominate one member to complete a climbing route; the competitor will be belayed and will also receive a protective helmet. We do not provide climbing shoes.
- Difficulty level: medium
- Scoring: according to the Trofeul Munților rules
- Counts towards the overall ranking of the competition;
5. Cultural and artistic event:
- Theme: sport, tourism, nature, ecology;
- Duration: approx. 25 minutes;
- Scoring: according to the Ștafeta Munților rules
- Content: at least 3 songs, a humorous sketch and a poem.
- Counts towards the overall ranking of the competition;
6. Mountain cross-country running event
- Participation is individual, and the ranking points will not be added to those from the Ștafeta events. Registration for this event is by a declaration on one's own responsibility. The available categories divide competitors into: seniors and juniors, both men and women. A participation fee (30 lei) will also be charged, and half of the sum collected goes to the winner.
Those who take part in the cross-country race cannot take part in other events of the competition, with the exception of the cultural event.
Important: for all compulsory events, the ȘTAFETA MUNȚILOR RULES, which you can find at www.stafetamuntilor.ro, must be followed to the letter
Competition categories:
FAMILY – teams of 3 people, with at least one adult and compulsorily at least one child aged 13 or under;
JUNIORS – teams of 3 people, of either sex, aged between 14 and 20 (completed years);
ELITE – teams of 3 people, of either sex;
SENIORS – teams of 3 people aged between 35 and 50, of either sex.
VETERANS – teams of 3 people aged over 50, of either sex;
WOMEN – teams of three women, regardless of age;
OPEN – teams of 3 people, regardless of age and sex. Times are calculated as touring times, and this category does not score in the overall Ștafeta Munților ranking.

Friday 21 July:
- 12:00 – 22:00 Arrival of participants
- 22:30 Technical briefing
- 24:00 Lights out
Saturday 22 July:
- 07:30 – 17:00 Technical and theory events
- 22:00 Cultural and artistic event and campfire
Sunday 23 July:
- 10:00 – Posting of results and settling of appeals
- 11:00 – Prize-giving ceremony
- 12:00 – Cleaning up the camp and departure of participants
Compulsory equipment:
Individual: torch, whistle, rain cape (waterproof jacket), hiking boots or footwear with a grippy sole (according to the Ștafeta Munților rules).
Team: compass, first-aid kit (recommended to contain at least 3 items such as: sterile bandage, sterile compresses, Rivanol plasters, elastic bandage, disinfectant, survival blanket), rucksack, fire source, water bottle – min. 1 l (according to the Ștafeta Munților rules).
Note:
- competitors who do not have hiking boots or footwear with a grippy sole cannot enter the mountain raid event.
Camp rules:
- Competitors will be accommodated in tents, under the guidance of the organisers.
- There will be a single campfire; making any additional fires is forbidden.
- Each club will receive a rubbish bag on arrival at the camp.
- Clubs are required to carry the rubbish they produce to the special collection points near the camp.
- The group leader is responsible for informing the members of his or her group of the accident prevention rules and the norms of mountain conduct, as well as the competition rules.
- The organisers reserve the right to make changes to the programme of competition events depending on the weather.
- Cars may be parked in the immediate vicinity of the camp under the guidance of the organisers; their access into the tent camp is forbidden.
