The Drumeții Montane Association Will TakePart in the Voluntmont Debate

From 11 to 14 October 2011, the "Drumeții Montane" Association will take part in the national seminar of the "Voluntmont Debate" Project, organised by the Nehoiu Association for Community Development in Buzău County, a project that responds to the objectives of the European "Youth in Action" programme.
At present, young people living in mountain villages are no longer involved in the professional activities specific to this area, related in particular to tourism and to providing the conditions it depends on, or to environmental protection in the mountain area, not being motivated for such activities both through a lack of information and through a lack of volunteering initiatives aimed at developing interests and skills in this direction.
The main theme of the debate is rural development in the mountain area, through the development of specialised volunteering in the fields of activity that bring profit to these areas, in close connection with the current needs and problems of mountain communities and local public authorities.
The "Drumeții Montane" Association has so far carried out various actions in which numerous volunteers took part, these being mainly pupils from schools in Gorj County.
