The DrumețiiMontane Festival

From 1 to 3 August 2014 you are expected to roam together with us through the land of RETEZATUL MIC–OSLEA, as part of the "DRUMEȚII MONTANE" FESTIVAL, organised by the "Drumeții Montane" Association & Jnepenii as a stage of the "Ștafeta Munților" (the Mountain Relay) National Sports Tourism Competition.
The tent camp will be set up at the Cheile Buții Tourist Complex, located at the southern gateway to Retezat National Park.
Now at its third edition, the "Drumeții Montane" Festival is reinventing itself and this year brings a new concept, being a mountain tourism event comprising seven competition categories, so that each of us can find a place in one of them.
We address elite athletes, for whom we have prepared a route that starts at around 900 m altitude, climbs to 2,014 m and descends to 1,180 m; ambitious and competitive girls; juniors full of enthusiasm; veterans who bring memories from the mountains of times gone by; those who want to enjoy the beauty of the mountains and the joy of competition at tourist pace – for whom we have prepared the OPEN category; and children, whom we want to educate in a green spirit.
The novelty is the FAMILY category, where members of the same family (compulsorily including a child aged no more than 13) have to face together events such as: tourism knowledge, covering a themed route and sports orienteering.

Anyone, whether they wish to take part in the activities or simply go for a weekend walk, is welcomed by the festival organisers.
