Within the "Să știi mai multe, să fii mai bun!" ("Know More, Be Better!") programme, the DRUMEȚII MONTANE Association got actively involved in the non-formal education of pupils by organising, in partnership with 12 schools from all over the country, the "ECO JUNIOR – 2014" project.
The aim of the project was the ecological education of pupils, the acquisition of an environmentally protective attitude and involvement in eco-recreational activities.
The more than 1,300 pupils who took part in the actions carried out within the project responded with enthusiasm. The interaction between the representatives of the Drumeții Montane Association and primary and lower-secondary pupils proved to be the most effective way of promoting the environment and a healthy lifestyle.
The activities carried out within the "Să știi mai multe, să fii mai bun!" programme consisted of video screenings, the making/presentation of posters and placards with ecological messages, clean-ups, the making of magazines on ecological themes, as well as outdoor games: orienteering – the sport of the forest, the caterpillar race, guess the player, setting up a tent camp.
At the end of the actions, the participants' awards ceremony was organised and diplomas were handed out.
