A feature film, running for three days, 2–4 August, in the meadow next to the Groapa Seacă chalet, Parâng Mountains! The leading actors can be all those who want to escape far from the cities with their scorching asphalt and deafening noise, somewhere in the heart of nature!

07:30 – START of the theory tests, mountain raid and orienteering;
16:00 – Playtime with EVI! Activities dedicated to children;
17:00 – START of the climbing;

20:00 – prize raffle (participation is free, each competitor being entitled to
draw a single ticket);
21:00 – Posting of the results;
21:30 – Opening of the cultural programme;

The "PARÂNGUL MARE" Mountain Sports Festival is Stage IV of the "ȘTAFETA MUNȚILOR" (the Mountain Relay) national sports tourism competition.
The tent camp will be set up near the Groapa Seacă chalet.
For camping, a fee of 10 lei/night/tent for 2–4 people is charged, payable on arrival at the camp. The fee includes camping and access to the showers and toilets.

The events will be held in accordance with the rules of the "ȘTAFETA MUNȚILOR" National Sports Tourism Competition.

THE OVERALL RANKING OF THE COMPETITION IS GIVEN BY THE SUM OF THE POINTS OBTAINED BY THE PARTICIPATING CLUBS / GROUPS IN THE COMPETITION CATEGORIES: ELITE, OPEN AND JUNIORS!
Cultural – each club / group has 20 minutes to present 3 songs, a humorous sketch and a poem. Among the 3 songs the club's anthem will also be presented, and the other 2 songs do not necessarily have to be original creations. The atmosphere created will be scored in particular. Points awarded: 300 points.
Competition rules:
Competitors will be accommodated in tents, under the guidance of the organisers.
There will be a single fire pit; setting up additional fire pits is forbidden.
Each club / group will receive a rubbish bag on arrival at the camp.
Clubs are obliged to carry the rubbish they produce to the first designated collection point outside the camp.
The group leader is responsible for informing the members of their group of the accident-prevention rules and the norms of mountain conduct, as well as of the competition rules.
The organisers reserve the right to make changes to the schedule of the competition events.
Compulsory equipment:
individual: footwear with a grippy sole, torch, whistle, rain cape;
collective: compass, first-aid kit, water bottle;
ATTENTION: without suitable footwear and a first-aid kit, no entry to the mountain raid event!
SPECIAL PRIZES:
- THE PRIZE FOR THE FASTEST ASCENT – will be awarded to the team that reaches checkpoint two (JUNIORS and OPEN categories) and checkpoint three (ELITE category) in the shortest time.
- TROUBADOUR OF THE CAMP – for the most devoted guitarist who will delight us on the two evenings at the campfire.

Access routes:
Access to the chalet is via national road 7A, a road that takes you into a fairytale holiday from the very first seconds. The 18 km of winding road starting from Petroșani, among the majestic rocks of the Jieț Gorge, dotted with delicate waterfalls which in summer delight you with crystal-clear water pouring into the Jieț river, ends in front of the Groapa Seacă chalet.
You can also opt for the Sebeș – Șugag – Obârșia Lotrului – Groapa Seacă Pass route, on road 67C, a dream gorge stretching over a distance of 123 km, with a road as smooth as the palm of your hand, recently built, this section being an integral part of the Transalpina highway. The chalet can also be reached from Novaci – Rânca – Groapa Seacă, a distance of 40 km, along which you can admire the Transalpina, also known as "the King's Road", in all its splendour.
The Groapa Seacă chalet is among the closest places to stay to the new VOINEASA – VIDRA – TRANSALPINA ski area, or TRANSALPINA SKI RESORT, which is approximately 15 km away.
