The Alpin Club PRO-MONT București Association is organising, from 3 to 5 August 2018, in the Piatra Mare Massif, the first edition of the "PRO-MONT" Trophy and Stage IV of the "Ștafeta Munților" (the Mountain Relay) National Sports Tourism Championship. The 2018 edition takes place under the motto "BE A HERO FOR HEROES", within the Festival of the Mountain 2018, which is held in the martyr town of Predeal.

The PRO-MONT Trophy is addressed both to members of the clubs taking part in the "Ștafeta Munților" National Sports Tourism Championship and to other people who will be able to organise themselves into teams, taking part alongside the clubs and enjoying the same activities.

The tent camp will be set up in the Poiana lui Manole area, at the foot of the Piatra Mare Massif, an area with mobile phone network coverage.

Access to the camping area is possible from the DN 1 Bucharest-Predeal-Timișul de Sus road and the Bucharest-Brașov railway, or from the DN 1A, Vălenii de Munte-Săcele-Brașov-Timișul de Sus.

Those who wish to reach the camp using the WAZE app can enter "Trofeul PRO-MONT 2018" as their destination.

The participants will cover a spectacular route starting from 867 metres and reaching an altitude of 1,844 metres, with the exception of those taking part in the Family category, who will only reach an altitude of 1,100 metres.

Among the attractions encountered on the route are Piatra Mare Peak, Cabana Piatra Mare (Elite category only), the Tamina Waterfall and Canyon, and the Tamina Canyon viewpoint.

Within the trophy there will also be a mountaineering event, held on a natural rock face, for the bravest of the participants or for those who wish to be initiated into the secrets of mountaineering.

The Piatra Mare Mountains are quite accessible for all age and experience categories, being situated between the Postăvarul Mountains to the north-west, Bucegi to the west, Baiului to the south and Ciucaș to the east.

The event is held with the help of the main sponsors VIKING Tools and with the support of Predeal Town Hall, the Predeal National Centre for Tourist Information and Promotion, the Predeal Public Mountain Rescue Service (Salvamont), the BioFocus Centre, All Ina Memories, Dedra, Marketing Romania, TuristMania.

Those who wish to take part in this event can opt for one of the categories below, according to age and experience:

FAMILY – teams of 3 people, at least one adult and compulsorily at least one child aged 13 or under;

JUNIORS – teams of 3 people, regardless of gender, aged between 14 and 20;
