The "TRANSALPIN" MountainSports Festival

From 20 to 22 July 2012, the "Drumeții Montane" Association is organising the "TRANSALPIN" Mountain Sports Festival, an event within which two competitions are held: the "TRANSALPIN" MARATHON and the "JIULUI" TROPHY. Prizes of 6,000 EUROS – in cash, vouchers and products. Please note: No participation fee is charged.
The TRANSALPIN Marathon comprises two competition categories: women's and men's. Competitors will run on forest roads, marked hiking trails and asphalt. For both categories, the competition route will be as follows: Cabana Obârșia Lotrului – Groapa Seacă Pass – Șaua Huluzul – Coasta lui Rus Peak (2,301 m) – Șaua Piatra Tăiată – Lake Câlcescu – DN 67C – FINISH (Cabana Obârșia Lotrului). Participation will be individual.
The Jiului Trophy is an outdoor competition between teams of 3 people and represents the 4th stage of the 'Ștafeta Munților' (the Mountain Relay) Competition.
Within the "JIULUI" TROPHY three competition categories are organised: JUNIORS, SENIORS and OPEN, each of them awarded separately.
The competition events are: mountain raid – 2,000 points, map orienteering – 2,000 points, climbing – 400 points, theory tests – 300 points, cultural – 300 points.
For the OPEN category, the MOUNTAIN RAID event will take place on the route Cabana Obârșia Lotrului – Groapa Seacă Pass – Șaua Huluzul – DN 67C – FINISH Cabana Obârșia Lotrului.
In the MOUNTAIN RAID event, the JUNIORS and SENIORS categories will cover the following route: Cabana Obârșia Lotrului – Groapa Seacă Pass – Șaua Huluzul – Coasta lui Rus Peak (2,301 m) – Șaua Piatra Tăiată – Lake Câlcescu – DN 67C – FINISH Cabana Obârșia Lotrului.
The overall ranking of the "JIULUI" TROPHY is made up of the sum of the best results obtained by a club in the three competition categories, plus the score of the cultural event, which will be held by clubs.
