Jnepenii is organising the mountain competition Trofeul Jnepenilor 2023 (the Dwarf Pines Trophy) in the Buila-Vânturarița National Park, on 4–6 August, with the camp and camping in Costești, at Hanul Vatra.
Participation is free, and registration is in teams of 3 people, with a minimum level of fitness. If you are passionate about nature and the mountains, we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible to enjoy the proposed routes, the scenery and the atmosphere of the whole event.
Trofeul Jnepenilor is the 5th stage of the national sports tourism championship Ștafeta Munților (the Mountain Relay) and FRTS 2023.

Competition categories:
All teams are made up of 3 members
· FAMILY – teams of 3 people, at least one adult and, compulsorily, at least one child aged 13 or under
· JUNIORS – teams of 3 people, regardless of sex, aged between 14 – 20
· ELITE – teams of 3 people, regardless of sex
· SENIORS – teams of 3 people aged between 35-50, regardless of sex.
· VETERANS – teams of 3 people aged over 50, regardless of sex.
· WOMEN – teams of three girls, regardless of age.
· OPEN – teams of 3 people, regardless of age and sex.
Competition events:
· MOUNTAIN RAID – the routes are of medium to high difficulty. We recommend that those who are taking part for the first time in a Ștafeta Munților competition or have no experience of hiking trails consult the members of the organising team when choosing the competition category. The compulsory equipment for this event is:
o individual: mountain footwear with a profiled sole, torch, whistle, rain cape;
o team: compass, first aid kit, water bottle, rucksack, fire source.
· THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE – multiple-choice test with 15 questions; the questions and answers will be posted in advance on www.stafetamuntilor.ro.
· ORIENTEERING – covering a course with the help of the orienteering map and the compass, whose distance will not exceed 2.5 km as the crow flies, with a maximum elevation difference of approximately 60 m.
· CULTURAL EVENT – non-stop fun in the evening around the campfire! The most inspired and creative will delight us with songs, poems, sketches and surprises.

12:00 – 22:00 – Welcoming the participants and registering the teams
22:00 – Technical briefing: a short introduction to the following day's routes
Saturday, 5 August
07:00 – Good morning! Gearing up and getting ready to enter the competition
07:30 – We start with the theoretical events
08:30 – 17:30 START! – We start with the mountain raid event, then the orienteering event
18:00 - 21:00 - Activities in the camp
21:30 – Let the party begin! We prepare the campfire and await the competitors for the cultural event
22:00-24:00 – The long-awaited moment: posting of the results
Sunday, 6 August
11:30 – Prize-giving ceremony! We go home with new memories and the thought that we will see each other again soon.
