The Jnepenii Association for Youth, Sport, Tourism and Ecology is organising the Trofeul Jnepenilor 2024 mountain competition in the Măcin Mountains National Park, between 28 and 30 June, with the camp and camping at Cetățuia, Luncavița, at Terasa Cetățuia.

Participation is free of charge, and registration is in teams of 3 people, with a minimum level of fitness. If you are passionate about nature and the mountains, we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible enjoying the proposed routes, the landscapes and the atmosphere of the whole event.

The Trofeul Jnepenilor is the first stage of 2024 of the Ștafeta Munților (the Mountain Relay) National Sports Tourism Championship and of the Romanian Sports Tourism Federation.

Camp:

Terasa Cetățuia, Cetățuia, Luncavița commune, Tulcea County.

Camping is in the area of the Cetățuia terrace.

For those who need accommodation, there are several guesthouses and villas for rent in the area.

Competition categories:

All teams are made up of 3 members

● FAMILY – teams of 3 people, at least one adult and compulsorily at least one child aged 13 or under

● JUNIORS – teams of 3 people, regardless of gender, aged between 14 and 20

● ELITE – teams of 3 people, regardless of gender

● SENIORS – teams of 3 people aged between 35 and 50, regardless of gender.

● VETERANS – teams of 3 people aged over 50, regardless of gender.

● WOMEN – teams of three women, regardless of age.

● OPEN – teams of 3 people, regardless of age and gender.

Competition events:

● MOUNTAIN RAID – the routes are of medium to high difficulty. We recommend that those taking part for the first time in a Ștafeta Munților competition, or who have no experience of hiking trails, consult the members of the organising team when choosing their competition category. The compulsory equipment for this event is:

○ individual: mountain footwear with a profiled sole, torch, whistle, rain cape;

○ team: compass, first-aid kit, water bottle, rucksack, fire source.

● THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE – multiple-choice test with 15 questions; the questions and answers will be posted in advance on www.stafetamuntilor.ro.

● ORIENTEERING – completing a course with the help of an orienteering map and a compass, over a distance not exceeding 2.5 km as the crow flies, with a maximum height difference of approximately 60 m.

● CULTURAL EVENT – the fun continues in the evening around the campfire! The most inspired and creative will delight us with songs, poems, sketches and surprises.

Friday, 28 June

14:00 – 22:00 – Welcoming the participants and team registration

22:00 – Technical briefing: a short introduction to the following day's routes

Saturday, 29 June

07:00 – Good morning! Gearing up and preparing to enter the competition

07:30 – We start with the theoretical tests

08:30 – 17:30 GO! – We start with the mountain raid event, followed by the orienteering event

18:00 - 21:00 - Activities in the camp

21:30 – Let the party begin! We prepare the campfire and await the competitors for the cultural event

22:00-24:00 – The long-awaited moment: posting of the results

Sunday, 30 June

11:30 – Awards ceremony! We head home with new memories and the thought that we will meet again soon.
