The Gașka București Tourism Association invites you to the ninth edition of the "Trofeul Munților" (the Mountains Trophy), Stage IV of the National Sports Tourism Championship – Ștafeta Munților & FRTS, 2023 edition, 21–23 July 2023 – Bucegi Natural Park
Trofeul Munților is open both to members of the clubs taking part in the Sports Tourism Championship – Ștafeta Munților & FRTS and to other people who can organise themselves into teams and take part alongside the clubs, enjoying the same activities.
Camp location:
The tent camp will be set up 4 km from the village of Bran, in the village of Poarta, on the stadium next to the Zănoaga ski slope.
Access is possible as follows:
- From DN73 Brașov – Bran – Moeciu – Rucăr – Pitești, or on DN73A from Predeal – Râșnov – Bran. Bran lies on DN73 about 30 km from Brașov. Coming from Brașov, in the centre of the village turn left onto Valeriu Lucian Bologa Street, towards the village of Poarta. From here it is about 4 km to the Zănoaga ski slope.
- For those coming by public transport, there is a bus from Brașov that goes to the centre of Bran. From here it is about 4 km to the camp. The public transport timetable can be found at Bus Station 2 (Autogara 2) in Brașov (www.autogari.ro )

Camp rules:
As the event will take place in a national park, the park's rules, which will be made known to you at the technical briefing, must be observed.
The camping FEE is 10 lei/person/competition. The fee will be collected by the organiser!
Lighting fires is forbidden. There will be a single large fire pit.
There will be rubbish bags in the camp. We ask every participant in the trophy to clean up the camping area before leaving.
RULES
1. Mountain raid event:
- Difficulty level: medium
- Duration: 7–8 hours
- Team: made up of 3 members
- Physical fitness: very good
- The route will be marked and secured by the organisers
- Scoring: according to the Ștafeta Munților rules.
- This event cannot be entered without hiking boots or mountain footwear with a lugged sole, which also includes trail running shoes
- Counts towards the overall ranking of the competition
2. Orienteering event:
- Speed event on the map; the whole team will cover the orienteering course. The maximum length will be 2 km and the maximum elevation difference 30 m;
- Scoring: according to the Ștafeta Munților rules
- Counts towards the overall ranking of the competition
IMPORTANT: Keeping the maps when leaving the course and communicating with the teams that enter the event later is forbidden!
3. Theory tests:
- They will be taken before setting off on the raid route by the members of the teams entered in the competition. The test will consist of 15 multiple-choice questions about the competition area, with a single correct answer, and will last a maximum of 7 minutes. Each team member will answer 5 questions.
- Scoring: according to the Ștafeta Munților rules
- Counts towards the overall ranking of the competition.

4. Climbing event:
- Each team will nominate one member to climb a climbing route; the competitor will be belayed and will also receive a protective helmet. We do not provide climbing shoes.
- The event is held in the categories: men, women and children.
- Difficulty level: medium.
- Score based on the height climbed and the time achieved.
- Approximate length of the route: 10 m
- Maximum time to complete the route: 5 minutes
- Prizes awarded separately. Does not count towards the overall ranking of the competition.
5. Cultural and artistic event:
- Theme: sport, tourism, nature, ecology;
- Duration: approx. 25 minutes;
- Scoring: according to the Ștafeta Munților rules
- Content: music, poetry, humour
- Counts towards the overall ranking of the competition;
Competition categories:
1. FAMILY – teams of 3 people, with at least one adult and compulsorily at least one child aged 13 or under;
2. JUNIORS – teams of 3 people, regardless of sex, aged between 14 and 18 (completed years);
3. ELITE – teams of 3 people, regardless of sex;
4. OPEN – teams of 3 people, regardless of age and sex. Times for this category are calculated as touring times;
5. SENIORS – teams of 3 people aged between 35 and 50, regardless of sex.
6. WOMEN – teams of three women, regardless of age.
7. VETERANS – teams of 3 people aged over 50, regardless of sex.

Friday 21 July:
- 12:00–22:00 Arrival of participants
- 22:30 Technical briefing
- 24:00 Lights out
Saturday 22 July:
- 07:30–17:00 Technical and theory events
- 22:00 Cultural and artistic event and campfire
Sunday 23 July:
- 10:00 – Posting of the results and settling of appeals
- 11:00 – Prize-giving ceremony
- 12:00 – Cleaning of the camp and departure of participants
Compulsory equipment:
Individual: torch, whistle, rain cape (waterproof jacket), hiking boots or footwear with a grippy sole (according to the Ștafeta Munților rules).
Team: compass, first-aid kit (recommended to contain at least 3 items such as: sterile bandage, sterile compresses, rivanol plasters, elastic bandage, disinfectant, survival blanket), rucksack, fire source, water bottle – min. 1 l (according to the Ștafeta Munților rules).
Note:
- competitors who do not have hiking boots or footwear with a grippy sole cannot enter the mountain raid event.
Camp rules:
- Competitors will be accommodated in tents, under the guidance of the organisers.
- There will be a single fire pit; setting up additional fire pits is forbidden.
- Clubs are required to carry their rubbish to the special collection points near the camp.
- The organisers reserve the right to make changes to the programme of the competition events depending on the weather.
- Cars may be parked in the immediate vicinity of the camp under the guidance of the organisers; their access into the tent camp is forbidden.
PARTICIPATION IN THE COMPETITION IS AT YOUR OWN RISK OR, WHERE APPLICABLE, WITH THE CONSENT AND UNDER THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PARENTS!
WE DO NOT PROVIDE ACCOMMODATION at the guesthouses in the area! Anyone wishing to stay in Poarta will have to book a room on their own at any of the guesthouses in the area!
