Dear mountain-loving friends, the Zimbrul Carpatin Pitești Association has the great pleasure of inviting you to take part in the second stage of the ȘTAFETA MUNȚILOR & FRTS National Sports Tourism Championship, which will take place in the Iezer-Păpușa Massif on 12–14 July, in Lerești commune, Argeș County, at the Voina chalet.
All tourism and ecology clubs and associations or sports associations in the country, whether or not affiliated to the Ștafeta Munților National Sports Tourism Championship and FRTS, may take part in this competition.
Participation is free, WITH NO PARTICIPATION FEE, and entry is in teams of 3 people, with a minimum level of physical fitness. If you are passionate about nature and the mountains, we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible enjoying the proposed routes, the scenery and the atmosphere of the whole event.

Access routes:
- National road DN73: Pitești – Brașov
- After leaving Câmpulung (if you are coming from Pitești) or at the entrance to Câmpulung (if you are coming from Brașov), take county road 734, which passes through Lerești commune and continues on asphalt right up to the Voina Chalet.

Competition categories:
1. Elite: teams of 3 members, regardless of age and sex.
2. Open: teams of 3 members, regardless of age and sex.
3. Women: teams of 3 members, all compulsorily female.
4. Seniors: teams of 3 members, all aged over 35, regardless of sex.
5. Juniors: teams of 3 members, aged 14–20, regardless of sex.
6. Veterans: teams of 3 members, all aged over 50, regardless of sex.
7. Family: teams of 3 members, with at least one adult and compulsorily at least one child aged 13 or under.
Competition events:
1. MOUNTAIN RAID – a mountain route of medium to high difficulty, lasting a maximum of 8 hours, with an elevation difference of 1,500 m. Participation is in teams of 3 members. This event cannot be entered without boots/trainers with a grippy sole and a windbreaker/rain cape.
The FAMILY category will have an age-appropriate route of a maximum of 4 hours.
Points awarded: 10,000 points.
Penalties: 10 pts/1 minute and 500 pts/1 PFA
2. ORIENTEERING – speed event on the map. The whole team will enter this event.
IMPORTANT: Keeping the maps when leaving the course and communicating with the teams that enter the event later is forbidden.
Points awarded: 5,000 points.
Penalties: 1 pt/1 second
3. THEORY TESTS – 15 questions about the competition area. All the questions are of low difficulty and have a single correct answer. You will find the questions on the website www.stafetamuntilor.ro.
IMPORTANT: the theory test will be taken before the other events, in the camp. Each team member will answer 5 questions.
Points awarded: 1,500 points.
4. CULTURAL – each club has 20 minutes to present an artistic and humorous act in which it can perform any mountain-themed song, a sketch and/or a poem.
Points awarded: 1,000 points.
Penalties: Depending on the marks received, according to the SM (Ștafeta Munților) rules.
IMPORTANT:
- For all compulsory events, the ȘTAFETA MUNȚILOR RULES, which you can find at www.stafetamuntilor.ro, will be strictly observed.
- Tents will be pitched in the designated area and only under the guidance of the
organisers.
- There will be a single fire pit in the camp. Mountain Gendarmerie patrols will be present in the area and will sanction any breach of the law. So please do not give them any reason to fine you!
Compulsory equipment:
- individual: hiking boots/trekking trainers, water container, rain cape/windbreaker, whistle, torch, fire source.
- team: compass, first-aid kit and, very important: a camera or a phone with a camera.
To determine the winners of the Trophy, the scores of the best-placed teams in any 3 categories will be added together, combining the scores they obtained in the following events: Mountain Raid, Orienteering and Theory Tests.

WE DO NOT PROVIDE ACCOMMODATION at the guesthouses in the area! Anyone wishing to stay at CABANA VOINA will have to book on their own at the telephone number: 0722595328. ! In the area the signal is very weak to non-existent on the Vodafone and Orange networks. There is signal only on the DIGI network.
Tourist attractions in the area:
- The Râușor Dam on the Târgului River.
- The Mateiaș Mausoleum, built in honour of the Nation's Heroes of the First World War.
- The Urșilor Cave (Bears' Cave) in the Cheile Mici ale Dâmboviței gorge (25 km from Câmpulung).
- Nămăiești Monastery, carved into the rock in the 16th century.
- Negru Vodă Monastery in Câmpulung, built in 1215 by Alexandru Basarab.
